ESOL Programs

QARI has the largest ESOL program in Quincy, offering over 5 levels of instruction and serving over 300 students per year.

Free Evening Classes

QARI offers free ESOL classes in the evenings, through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Classes meet for 7.5 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.

We are always accepting applications for our evening program, but please be aware that, because classes are free, the wait time can be as long as two years.

Subsidized morning classes

Year-round, QARI offers five levels of ESOL on weekday mornings. These classes are not free, but are offered at an affordable, subsidized rate of $160 per semester. Most classes are 3 hours long meet two times per week. A semester totals 90 instructional hours.

To register for our classes, please visit the QARI Office at 1509 Hancock Street, Suite 209, or call the office (617-472-2200) to make an appointment for a placement test. All students must take a placement test to assure the proper placement in class.

Volunteer-Led Classes

We also partner with volunteer groups to offer free classes and help to meet the demand for English classes. Our current partners include New Day Church and The Thomas Crane Public Library. If you have a volunteer group that would like to partner with us to teach English, please contact us!
